Corrections & complaints

Accuracy is the only thing that makes an independent newsroom worth reading. When we get something wrong we fix it quickly, in the open, and on the story itself — we do not quietly delete or rewrite history.

How to report an error

Email corrections@horizonglobalnews.com with the article link, the sentence you believe is wrong, and — where possible — a source supporting the correct version. You can also use our contact page.

We acknowledge every report within two working days and aim to resolve factual disputes within five.

How we classify changes

  • Correction — a material fact was wrong. The story carries a dated correction note at the foot, describing what was wrong and what it now says.
  • Clarification — the facts were right but the wording could mislead. We reword and note the change.
  • Update — the story moved on. We add the new information and update the modified date.
  • Retraction — the story should not have run. We unpublish it and explain why at the same URL.

Version history

Every editorial change to a published article is written to an internal revision log recording what changed, when, and which editor made the change. That log is what our corrections notes are drawn from.

Complaints about coverage

If you believe a story is unfair, unbalanced, or breaches our editorial standards, write to editor@horizonglobalnews.com. Complaints are reviewed by an editor who was not involved in producing the story. If you are unsatisfied with the outcome, you may ask for it to be escalated to the managing editor, whose decision is final and will be explained to you in writing.

Rights, credit and takedowns

Our stories are written in our own words and always credit and link the outlet whose original reporting a story is based on. If you are a publisher who believes a story over-quotes your work or misattributes it, email rights@horizonglobalnews.com and we will amend, re-credit or remove the item promptly.
